Hey, hi, happy Friday! I’ve been impatiently waiting for the weekend to come because we’re going camping on Santa Cruz Island! It will be my first visit, and I’m hoping to get a lot of great pictures to share with you all on Monday.
Without further ado, here are five things I’m into this week!
1. Fug Madness
Tis the season when my favorite blog, Go Fug Yourself, hosts its biggest event of the year — Fug Madness. I know nothing of sports but I participate in this competition of Fug every year. My bracket is filled out (Bella Thorne ftw) and everything. I could wax poetic about Heather & Jessica all day, frankly. I love them and their blog and their novels and pretty much everything they write. But Fug Madness is a great time to be introduced to their unique brand of sartorial snark with a side of social commentary and genuine smarts.
2. This rehearsal footage from the Kennedy Center’s production of In The Heights
I. Love. Them.
You know anything that features lavender and bees is going to be a winner for me. I absolutely love her botanical and nature-inspired drawings.
4. Tom Hardy’s deleted scene from The Last Jedi
I’m… in tears??? What is happening??? What is his accent??? WHY DOES HE SLAP FINN’S BUTT???? I’m glad it was deleted from the movie but I’m so grateful it wasn’t deleted from my life. I really needed this today.
I want to take a second to pump up a fellow writer, my friend Erin Connor. She is currently in the process of querying agents with her novel, Death Becoming. I was lucky enough to read the manuscript over this past week and I was totally blown away by her creativity. Death Becoming is a young adult fantasy novel that features some incredible world-building, a diverse cast of unforgettable characters, and a compelling story that begs not to be put down once it’s picked up. I’m giving you all a heads up because I guarantee you’ll be seeing her book everywhere soon. You can follow her writing and publishing journey and find more information about Death Becoming on WordPress here and on Twitter here.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
