Five Things Friday (#22)

Friday is finally here! I swear I’ve been thinking it was Friday since Wednesday. I’ve got no big plans this weekend, hopefully just getting in some writing time. Inspiration hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday and I’ve finally picked up the ATFS sequel again! Looking over it yesterday reminded me how excited I am to share it with all of you. Hopefully, there will be more updates soon!

In the meantime, let’s get to it!

1. Bunny Miele on Society6

I just love this art style, and it happens to feature two of my main men: Fox Mulder and Dale Cooper. I really want to buy all of this.

2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame Musical

My sister has been trying to convince me to listen to the cast recording for this on Spotify for like a year and I finally did. I’m here to say in front of God and anyone reading this that SHE WAS RIGHT. It’s so good. SO GOOD. The Disney movie version of Hunchback has always had one of my favorite soundtracks and scores, and the musical does justice to it while expanding it and being able to really dive into the darker elements without hesitation. It’s simply gorgeous. Plus, the actor who plays Frollo is Patrick Page — the actor who plays Hades in my other musical obsession, Hadestown. Maybe I just love Patrick Page. Sorry not sorry.

3. This GQ interview with Brendan Fraser

There’s a reason everybody is talking about this piece, What Ever Happened to Brendan Fraser. It’s beautifully written and poignant and honestly brought tears to my eyes. Brendan Fraser was an iconic action movie hero in my childhood, and to see him in a new vulnerable light was powerful and important. I think this has a lot to say about masculinity and the toxicity of Hollywood, and it’s an important read.

4. Wyvern Lingo’s debut album!!!

I. Love. These. Girls. Incredible vocals, spot-on harmonies, and catchy beats galore. Girl groups forever.

5. How is Prangent Formed?

I know this isn’t a new video and honestly it’s not even new to me but Youtube suggested it to me this morning and it made me laugh until my stomach hurt, so consider it a Friday gift.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend! Talk to you soon!

Weekends are for camping with my husband, reading, and hunting for vintage treasures, which I sell in my Etsy shop, Peace & Goodwill. My favorite things include lavender lattes, swimming in the ocean, true crime podcasts, The X-Files, and Peaky Blinders. I hope to become a full-time writer, bestselling novelist, and a continually improving reflection of God's grace. Proverbs 16:24
